As Taiwan has entered a super-aged society, and in order to enhance the quality of age-friendly living environments, our Institute participated in the “2026 AT Life Taiwan Assistive Technology and Long-Term Care Expo” from May 14 to 17, 2026. The event was commissioned by the ICF and Assistive Technology Research Center of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to the Taiwan Access for All Association, and jointly organized with Chan Chao International Co., Ltd.. The theme of the Institute’s exhibition booth was “Space Is the Best Assistive Device,” showcasing achievements in improving age-friendly residential environments. Highlights of the exhibition included the introduction of an interactive “AI Consultant” service, through which visitors could ask questions by voice to obtain ideas for home modifications and assistive device applications. In addition, a treasure-hunt-style interactive experience guided visitors through residential spaces such as entrances, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms, demonstrating how minor spatial adjustments can effectively enhance residential safety and daily convenience, while introducing diverse approaches to creating age-friendly living environments.

The exhibition attracted more than 133,000 visitors in total, of which approximately 9,000 visited the Architecture and Building Research Institute’s booth. Visitors included older adults, home care service personnel, and interior renovation practitioners, while several senior service centers also organized group visits for learning. During the exhibition, approximately 1,000 consultation services were provided on-site, receiving strong recognition and highly positive feedback from both the public and related industries.
