Abstract

As the rapid development of technology and information, BIM(Building Information Modeling) came out under this kind of society and circumstance. Saving all the information of building in the model is the best advantage of BIM. And then, the market is flooded with so many different kinds of BIM software. Most of BIM software has their own platform to offer the users to develop according to their different requirements called API (Application Programming Interface).
On the other hand, in order to make sure that the quality of buildings is in control, government has set the regulations of evaluation to check. Regulations of Grading Housing Performance is one of the evaluative regulations in Taiwan. Its contents are divided into eight aspects including structure, fire-protection, barrier-free environment, air environment, luminous environment, sound environment, energy saving and water saving, and residential maintenance. In each part, government lists the clear items and scopes to make checking more convenient and easier for applicants. As the existing method, the buildings are evaluated by people of related department. However, finishing the whole process will take plenty of time and delay the following steps.
To sum up, we want to apply the technology of BIM API to increase the efficiency of evaluation focusing on the aspects of fire-protection, barrier-free environment, and residential maintenance. As the expected purpose, we will develop an API to automatically check the regulations to the BIM model and tell the applicants about the grades that the model gets. For the future, it could be extended to the remaining aspects following the framework, which has been done in this research.
