Abstract

1.The research background
The material of the cover is the most important factor that determines the fire performance of the framed timber wall. However, the building material is a lack of test method and performance standards to apply during the fire extinction period.
2.Research process
This study survey many test method and performance standards for building materials during the stage of fully-developed fire. The fire test have been conducted on these walls specimens with several different building materials.
3.Conclusion
(1)The covering board is the most important fire prevention of walls.
(2)Incombustibility of interior finish material of buildings cannot be measured fire resistance in fully development period.
(3)Fire performance of building materials is as follows:Gypsum board-GBFUL>Gypsum board-GBF>Gypsum board-GBR>Calcium silicate board-CSB.
(4)The new fire resistance tests method of the building material has been completed which refer to the ASTM C 1396.
