Research on the Energy Conservation and Efficiency Evaluation of Solar Heating System in Single-Family Housing

Abstract
In Taiwan, the building industry accounts for 28.3% of nation’s total energy consumption. And it has been highly depending on imported energy which is over 97% of total energy resource. To reduce energy consumption of heating water system become an important concern. The low-carbon energy development roadmap is shown in the National Energy Conference, which includes the clear energy, solar energy, biomass, wind power generation as their main project in 2009. The policy is focused on technology and low-cost improvement for increasing incentives in developing renewable energy. On September 4, 2008, the Executive Yuan passed the sustainable energy policy agenda. The reduction of carbon-saving campaign in the "Promotion of solar heating system" for energy-saving is one of action of the carbon reduction programme. Therefore, following the renewal energy policy, this research focused on the evaluation process and the benefit of solar heating system applying for housing. Within the evaluation process, the interface technical issues between building structure and questionnaires within the demand of end-users have been summarized. On the other hand, the promotion of solar heating technology and the residential energy-saving carbon-reducing benefits has also tried to facilitate. The study found that, in order to enlarge the market, it needs to publish the technical design guideline of solar heating system for building by government agency as soon as possible. And the second, the demands of solar heating system for residential building user are remarkable from the analysis of questionnaires. Finally, according to the determination, survey results, and comment from expert interview, this research summarized the design evaluation strategic framework of solar heating system. In order to establish the pre-design evaluation process, the weighting index of evaluation item will be studied continuously in the future.
