Abstract
Sound absorption panel is the most wildly used element for the purpose of sound absorption in construction industrial. The performance of sound absorption panel is affected by many factors. In this research we will choose mineral wool and fiberglass sound absorption panel as test objects and for the research on how the air layer affect the sound absorption performance, we use the R6 chamber of Architecture and Building Research Institute Ministry of the Interior and design test method of varying air layer thickness. According to the test result, we found that in fiberglass sound absorption panel the best result will happen when it has air layer thickness of 25cm. The thicker we extend the air layer behind testing panel, the higher the sound absorption coefficient will acquire behind the frequency of 1600Hz. In mineral wool sound absorption panel, the air layer thickness will cause little effect on sound absorption coefficient
