Abstract
This project is intended to pursue the research achievements: Certification and Consultation of Green Building Material (GBM) Label by Architecture and Building Research Institute (ABRI), Ministry of the Interior, 2008. In line with proceeding GBM policy in Taiwan, to build GBM Label System and create evaluation criteria of GBM will be the main research subjects for this project, which can be used as the measures to establish the system of promoting GBM Label. This system, therefore, is to offer government and private sectors, as well as building material industries and consumers, a reference for choosing high quality building materials. By promotion the label system with the spirits of the global sustainability and human health, it will enhance our living environment and quality in health and safety. The main subjects of this year are listed below: 1. The specific duties to process and accept the application of the GBM Label. 2. Providing the consultant service for GBM Label application. 3. Enacting the criteria and rules for the GBM Label. Ⅱ This year, the criterion and examined process have been maintained. Taiwan Architecture and Building Center (TABC) will be entrusted for the implementation. The GMB Label Audit Committee will be established with specific duties to process and accept the application, and audit for building materials. It is designed to regularize the operation of manufactures by the distinct testing benchmark, and the building materials meeting the benchmark will be granted by the ABRI, The GBM Label will be dependable for consumers when selecting the building materials. The GBM policy will be carried out a special chapter as Green Building to Building Technical Regulations and intending to implement the regulations of the GBM supplemented by Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior (CPAMI). From July, 2009, namely the GBM will push that more than 30% of interior decoration area should be fitted with green materials. By now, 282 Green Building Material Labels (220 Healthy GBM, 1 Ecological GBM, 21 Recycling GBM and 40 High-Performance GBM) have been issued with 2853 green producds and 135 manufacturers.
