A Plan of expanded evaluation for health green building materials performance and benefit

Abstract
1.Introduction Continuing the trend of Ecological sustainable development in 21st century, develop “health” and “carbon-free” green buildings has become important issue for governments all over the world. To improve the health performance of the indoor environment (IEH) is the key factor of the new-type green building. Taiwan is located in the subtropical climate area; the serious problem of indoor environment is mainly cause by chemical substances emission from indoor building materials. 2.Research approach and course The Architecture and Building Research Institute, Ministry of the Internal, have already set up a high-quality control policy for green building materials through the promotion of “green building materials label”. The used rate of green building materials raised from “5% to 30%” in the building code (rule 321), shows that the green building materials can be directly “expand and used” in indoor environment, including whole building materials construction and furniture products ,etc. However, expanding the use of green building materials in indoor environment and the “health performance evaluation methods” afterwards still need to be set up immediately. The research subject is to maintain a healthy living by improving the health performance of indoor environment and help the development of innovative building industry. 3.Important discovery (1).To improve the health performance and criterion of green building materials. (2).Measure the health performance of full-scale green building materials in the indoor environment, verified the health benefit. (3).Set up the analytical method of green building materials and its benefit. (4).Provide an expanding strategy of healthy green building materials in the indoor environment, offer assistance on policies set up and promotion. 4.Suggestion (1).Immediately suggestion:To conduct the promotion conference of “Healthy building materials” and “predict emission model from building materials” for the decorator.
