Abstract
The Green Building Evaluation System “EEWH” of Taiwan is one of the very
outstanding achievements during the green building development history of our times,
meanwhile “EEWH” is also the most important link of Taiwan Sustainable
construction policy. The first stage of “Green Building Project” had been promoted
since 2003 to 2007 and built up an excellent foundation for expanding the application
to the eco-city. Therefore in 2008, the category of Green building has expanded to
city scale, i.e “Eco- city and Green building Promotion Project” (2007~2011) .
Hoping to push the scheme further, this study will expand applicable scope of the
green building into existing buildings’ renovation, in order to reduce the carbon
emission and environmental impact of existing buildings which occupy 97% in
Taiwan’s building market.
Besides EEWH, Architecture and Building Research Institute of Ministry of the
Interior had accomplished the Evaluation System of “eco-community” (EEWH-EC) in
2009 , now setting about drafting Green building Evaluation System for Technology
factory(EEWH-TF). And these systems constitute an intact green building evaluation
family with the Green building Evaluation System for Rnovation (EEWH-RN), which
can emulate with U.S.A.'s LEED and Japan’s CASBEE. In order to realize green
architecture policy in an all-round way, This research will set target on the Green
building improve potential of existing buildings and study Taiwan’s EEWH (Ecology,
Carbon Reduction, Waste Reduction and Health) as well as the criteria of Europe, the
United Stated and Japan.
The objective of this research is as follows:
( 1 ) Analyze and compare U.S.A. LEED-EB and Japan CASBEE-EB Green building
evaluating system of existing buildings.
( 2 ) Applying EEWH-BC Green building evaluating system to existing buildings
renovation.
( 3 ) Drafting the applicable “EEWH-EB” evaluating system for Taiwan conditions.
( 4 ) Analyze and Audit the efficiencies of Green Remodeling Projects that
accomplished in the past to examine the applicability of EEWH-RN.
( 5 ) Drafting green building remodeling certification system of EEWH-RN.
( 6 ) Accomplish EEWH-EB green building evaluating manual.
