Abstract
The focus of this study is on enhancement strategy for Eco-City and Green
Building Promotion program in Taiwan. Since 2008, the implementation of this
Promotion program has a numbers of sub plans to adjust the content or postpone the
completion time, therefore, how the planning design process and policies of cities or
communities can accord with sustainability based on this Promotion program should
be considered and discussed more deeply.
Several important findings obtained in the research are described as follows.
(1) From the perspective of sustainable development, eco-city is more diverse
and comprehensive than low carbon city Promotion program. But low
carbon city program will have more short-term strategies can show the effect
than eco-city program.
(2) Public participation is important issues for the implementation of Eco-City
and Green Building Promotion program, that only got supporting this
program from citizens could made implementation of the these sub plans
easier.
(3) Because of the government budget limitation, that was revealed in the
annual plans approved process recent years, many sub plans should adjust
the content. For getting the final good results, it should have enough budget
to support the whole program.
